There are many popular beach resorts on the Cape’s west coast, and some of them will truly leave you breathless where others will leave you saying, “This places reminds me of…”. This is how it is everywhere, but there are a few places that will make you wonder how it has remained so perfect and “untouched”. Take Paternoster for example. It is a fishing village located on the Cape’s west coast and it also has a hotel and also a padstal (Afrikaans for a road stall). At the stall you will be able to purchase homemade jams and fresh bread. Everybody wants a piece of Paternoster with the booming property market. Although, Paternoster is expanding, you will still find it peaceful with its interesting people and beautiful beaches.
There are so many popular beach resorts on the Cape’s west coast, and some of them should not be missed. Have a look at Tietiesbaai located just a few kilometres from Paternoster. You will take a dirt road getting here, but once you arrive here, the one thing you will fall in love with is that the world here is totally untouched. This is the closest you will get to nature, because you camp on the beach and here you will find nothing else but ablution facilities. There is no electricity and you will only find cold water in the taps. The view of the beach from here is spectacular with big shells blanketing the beach, unbroken.
You should definitely try Yzerfontein located on Cape Town’s West Coast. This destination is can be found north of Cape Town and the town has a beach that stretches as far beyond the horizon. You will also find accommodation here with a few restaurants. These are perfect places if you would love to get lost in time.
